194. The Importance of Walking in Your Coworking Customer's Shoes

IN THIS EPISODE, I DISCUSS:

Your website performance is critical. It is at the top of your sales funnel.

I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at coworking websites for our new mentor program. There are VERY good coworking space websites and there also many that have room to grow!

In this episode, we’re focusing on your coworking website through the lens of our customer’s journey.

We talk about the process of conducting an optimization process on your website:

  1. Making sure your site passes the “grunt test.”

  2. Getting an unbiased “user test” done on your site.

  3. Finding  2-3 people in the coworking industry to review your site.

  4. Reviewing your website through the lens of your customer

  5. Writing down the steps you want your potential member to take to enter and go through your sales funnel.

We also talk about the biggest mistakes I see in the customer journey:

  • You promote your membership on social media but the social media link drops the user onto your home page which has about 26 things they could click on.

  • You get the potential member interested enough to book a tour and then you make them fill out a form to schedule a time.

  • Your home page talks about YOU and not about how your membership options solve a problem for your member.

In the resources section below, you will find links to coworking websites that pass the grunt test and make it very easy for potential members to understand what problem they solve and how to take action to book a tour

If you’re in my mentorship program, you have access to Kevin Whelan’s training: The Anatomy of a Perfect Coworking Website.” If you’re working on optimizing your website, that resource is a great place to start.
